THE BLIND MAN WHO SAW

Bartimius was blind since birth... To most people especially in that age, this type of condition was permanent .

Allow me to break down to you the life of a blind person..usually they require help to do most stuff that can easily be done by a person who sees, they also need to learn to how use other senses better to substitute the sight.

Their motion is mostly restricted to particular areas that are familiar to them and they normally need more attention and help where necessary.

So only Bartimius understood what His life was like, that, when He heard that Jesus (the son of David) was passing by, he couldn't wait, He used that chance to reclaim His sight back.

People rebuked Him and told him to be quiet (You know, there are people who will not get you, they won't understand your struggle, they will never understand your problem and they are okay when you remain the same as you are, as long as it doesn't affect them)

But this guy could hear none of it, you see, here Jesus was almost being crucified, He was headed towards Jerusalem, and this was one of the signs that He did as He journeyed in that town. If Bartimius missed this opportunity, probably, he would never have seen in his life.

He therefore shouted all the more, it was obvious that this guy knew who was passing by and finally Jesus heard him.

Jesus ordered for the man to be brought to Him.. Heeeey, the same people that pressed hard against Him, preventing him from accessing Jesus, were the same people who carried him and took him to Jesus..they were witnesses 101 to his miracle.

Jesus asked Him, "What do you want me to do to you?" One thing about Jesus is, however much He knows what you need, He sometimes needs to hear it from you because that shows surrender on your part, it's a sign that you need Him, God needs you to surrender your situation, in order for Him to handle it.

Good thing this man knew what he wanted and as he requested for SIGHT, and voila! It was granted.

Suppose Jesus came right where you are and asked you what you want, what would be your response, Bartimius asked for his sight, Solomon asked for wisdom, Samson asked for his hair back.

What is that one thing that you want God to do to you, are you desperate enough for it. Or do you just get discouraged when people try to stop you.

Bartimius was blind but He had more vision than most people around him, why? I believe everyone around him had a need which Jesus could easily grant but only Bartimius received His miracle.

This story shows us how close Jesus can be to us and how we can get OR miss a miraculous encounter with Him.

Jesus cares about our needs, He is a father who is ready to listen and hear us when we call on Him..  He wants you to acknowledge that you need Him to help you, that you cannot do it with your strength, He is waiting on you to make that prayer to Him.

Will you call on Him today, will you surrender to Him like Bartimius..

He is a friend who sticks closer than a brother, a father who understands you, who is well able to meet that need and His hand is not short that it can't deliver..

Call on Him today.
