THE LAW OR THE GRACE

They all looked at her with fierce eyes, All fingures pointing at her, as their eyes were fixed on her with rage. Filthiness and disgrace was clearly all over her. Her eyes were filled with terror as the trembling on her body could not be hidden.

She was just there, waiting for her final adjudication, since the people had already judged her guilty with a sentence of death.

But wait!!! There was one person who had not passed His verdict, the mysterious Man, some called Him a Rabbi, others a messenger, others a teacher.

However, who cared about His name at this time, what mattered most, was what He would do. At that point, He held her life in His hands and whatever was to be done to her was in accordance to what He would say, and so, they had to wait, the whole crowd and Mainly the woman, because she knew that what came out of His mouth, was final. It was her judgement, how she wished he would be merciful to her and at least give her a lighter sentence.

He bent down, wrote something on the ground. He didn't look worried, perplexed or troubled as the rest were, He was very calm and peaceful.
Then He rose up, looked at each one of them and said, " Whoever has no sin, let him be the first to cast his stone towards her." He then bent down again.

Wait!! Was this not a teacher, doesn't he have any knowledge of the Law??? Many thoughts were running through their minds but they could do nothing. He had spoken and whatever He said also affected them, they all were guilty by law and the Man was clearly her Savior. His grace had surpassed what the law said. He cared more about this woman because He had seen her repentant heart, He knew her accusers were just hypocrites.

The woman on the other side could not believe her eyes, as she saw them disperse one by one, leaving her with Jesus,  the good man, the Rabbi, Her Savior.
Her eyes were now filled with joy, her heart was at peace and she was indeed thankful.

As she stood up and looked at Jesus, she was sure that He was no ordinary man, He was full of compassion. He looked at her with loving yet affirming eyes, assuring her that she was now safe, forgiven and free... He told her that He judged her not, that she can now go her way and should sin no more.

And as she went, she now knew that He was no ordinary teacher. The man -Jesus was many things to her, He had the power to forgive her, He cared for her, He was her present help in her time of trouble, He was the one on her side when everyone else wasn't, He was her advocate, her redeemer and from then she knew she wanted to be His friend, Jesus was her Savior. She wanted to be under His protection and forever experience His goodness. She would now subject to His words and do as He says.

Because He had proven Himself Worthy; Worthy of her trust, Worthy of being called her Savior and worthy of being followed.

He had shown that He came not to condemn through Law but to Save through Grace.
