DONT SETTLE, BREAK CAMP

Have you ever been afraid of change, the restlessness, inconvenience, challenges and discomfort that comes with it? Well, Welcome here :)

Deuteronomy 1:6-7
The LORD our God said to us at Horeb, "You have stayed long enough at this mountain.
Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the mountains, in the western foothills....

The scripture above is a conversation between God and Moses who was a spokes man for the Israelites. God was instructing Moses to gather up the people and leave that camp they were in after escaping from the Egyptian's captivity.

The Israelites had settled in and gotten so comfortable, this was by far a better place than Egypt, the lifestyle here was easier and there was no pressure in this place.

But now, Word came from God, It was time to "un-settle" to start packing and break camp to go to a new place, a new home where God would show them.

God knew well that they were better-off out of this place, the wilderness, they needed to go to the promised land.

From my experience, I know how hard it is to shift from just a house to another, worse is, if you are not sure of where you are heading to and not knowing the kind of people you'll find there.

But to them (Israelites) however unclear it was, they were willing to move from the land, trust in God, obey His word and leave their home to a new home.

Fast forward... They of course obeyed and moved and God for sure gave them the promised land.

 

However long it took, the efforts they made, fights they fought, mountains they climbed and valleys they crossed, they were well compensated, God kept His word, He took them to the  land flowing with milk and honey.

What am I trying to say? Sometimes its important to break camp, To un-settle and get moving from our comfort zones.

It might not be so good or comfortable at all at that time, but we ought to look on the brighter side; to know that change brings about progress and learning, it helps us to aim higher, move further and even allows us to stop settling for less.

We need to have the knowledge that we are on transit, and as long as we are walking in *God's will* we are heading towards the right direction and a better destination.

 

And it doesn't matter how uncomfortable we may be, when God says, "break-camp and leave", we should be rest assured that God has a better place, a better plan and a better land in store for us.

Therefore, take courage, dont settle for less, however hard it is, if that's not where you ought to be,  break camp and go where God is leading you today, you'll be surprised to see how much good awaits you on the other side.
