(John 14:27) Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Today let's journey along and learn about this five letter word (PEACE) that Jesus was talking about.
There's just something about Peace which Jesus knew better.
If you google, one of the meanings of Peace is; Freedom from disturbance or tranquility.
You see, Jesus knew very well that there would be disturbance in the hearts of His disciples in the face of the storms and so He knew how important Peace was to their hearts.
And He said.. not as the world gives. Hmmm... so there is the Peace of the world and the Peace that comes from God.
The type of Peace Jesus was talking about here was the peace of God... that surpasses all human understanding.
It required Him (Jesus) to be the source, It required some level of maturity, real growth in the Knowledge of Christ for their minds to fathom.
The peace of Jesus required faith in Him.. Confidence in the power of His Might and Submission to His Authority knowing that God's in control.
This was something so foreign to them (disciples), but Jesus had it and so He could freely give it to them.
Peace was what they needed then and peace is what we need right now.
It's a weapon that gears us up to show our confidence in God and in His word, it's a communication to the enemy saying that you are not afraid.
Peace is what will set us apart from the world.. Peace gives us hope and the patience to wait on God, it gives us a clear mind to understand situations and also allows for God to fight our battles as we partake of His blessing.
It is my prayer that we will own this fruit of the spirit called peace in the face of any turbulence that comes in our lives and also receive freedom and victory that comes as a result of it.
May the peace of Jesus that surpasses all human understanding be your portion in whatever you are going through, now and forever more.
