TIGHTEN IT AND KEEP IT THAT WAY - Very Tight

More often, we see people putting on pants with belts especially men, why do they do so? Mainly, aside from style, beauty and convenience, the use of the belt is to keep the pants up and hold them from falling.

That aside, lets think of the spiritual belt.

Ephesians 6:14 says Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist ...

The word of God above speaks to us to put on the belt of truth, but, what is this truth? You ask. Jesus said, I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father except by me.

As we read about the bible story`of peter and Jesus in Mathew 26:58 when Jesus was just about to be crucified. All the disciples of Jesus had fled for their lives, but peter having promised Jesus that he would Never ever betray Him, tried to keep his word by following Him at a distance.

The reason why Peter sinned was not due to lack of faith, it was not because he had rebelled against Jesus. It was because He kept a distance between Him and Jesus.

Think of it this way, if Peter was with Jesus hand in hand, if he was walking with Him side by side, if he was with Him through everything, there is no way he could have sinned by denying ever knowing Him.

The bible tells us to put on the belt of truth who is Jesus. And how are we supposed to put it on? We should put it on tight . 

If a man/woman walks with pants which have a loose belt, they are risking the pants falling off, why? because there is a distance that is not supposed to be there between the waist and the pants.

That's the same way Jesus expects for us to walk with Him, hand in hand, step by step, with no distance between us and Him because He knows very well that this small distance is the one the devil will use to separate us from Him.

So what distance are you keeping between you and your father in heaven? What have you been compromising? Which door have you been opening? Have you been loosing up your guard?

It is time to stand strong and hold tight to Jesus.
It is time to tighten our belts and keep it that way, very tight.
